G shock is very good watch.
Have this watch for 5 years now, and it's great. If it's still available don't hesitate to order it.

I like this watch especially the two features that mean it charges its own battery and adjusts the time automatically. The tide state and moon phase indication is interesting. Its other features cover every aspect of time management. A good watch and at a reasonable price.
Watch appeared to be perfect untill closer inspection revealed that many of the screw on the watch face were extremely loose making me question how secure and waterproof this supposed dive watch may be.

The CGW-7900-1ER, G-Rescue is my 3rd purchase from Watch Shop in as many weeks. Very impressed.
Whilst the competitive pricing was the initial attraction, along with choice, have been extremely pleased with service which has been outstanding & exemplary!
As for the GW-7900-1ER, G-Rescue, very comfortable to wear, more comfortable than more expensive G-Shocks, definitely a watch that can be worn for extended periods. Setting up is pretty straightforward, although I would urge any new buyer/owner to acquire the free user guides online & download from Casio website (pdf file) just need watch model and have your watch to hand to check code on back plate of watch.
Definitely recommend both the Casio G-Shock Rescue watch & purchasing via the Watch Shop.

I need a watch that I can use in lots of disciplines including a hard work and environment and in sport. This covers both areas with ease. I dont have a big wrist so most G-shocks would just be too big on me, This however is perfect and comfy.

This is my first G-Shock, it is sensational, it is great on the hands thanks to the wings which are underneath the watch, it is not thick or big due to which it looks good on the hands, I'm sure it will not be my last G-Sock purchased on watch shop.

Bought to replace a similar watch - except this one has solar power - very good timekeeper because of radio control and fine to take swimming as 200 metres resistant.
Loved the watch size and that rugged looks. Fit comfortably on the wrist aided by those ingenious 'wings' under the straps.
Watch is great, other half finds it's comfy for day-today wear, it's stylish and functions as it should.

appears to be strong and fit for purpose.
This watch is great for anyone with an active lifestyle. Bought one for myself and my boyfriend, we are both police officers and requires a watch packed with features and which commands respect. The watch is chunky but feels like a much smaller watch when on the wrist. It comes fully charged and can be set up to your satisfaction in about 15 mins. Its handy to have a solar powered watch because we will never have the costs or stress involved with battery replacement. The watch is radio controlled so it never needs the time setting and its intelligent so it will turn the screen off if left in a cupboard or in its tin for a long period of time. The backlight could be slightly brighter but its adequate. The watch is clearly tough and I have no doubts that it will be able to survive all he knocks and scrapes it will receive when Im at work. This was the best watch I could find for the price and Im really happy with my purchase.
The main thing I would change about it is the strap. It only has a single pin holding it closed, I prefer a style which has two. This shouldnt cause any issues as the strap seems though, but it would look better with two.

3rd gshock in a row and this one is the best by far. It has no annoying hands that often cover the small digital screens that my last one had. Its very comfortable and has great functions with very clear screens and its easy to use too.

This watch has a large face and quite deep body but fits me fine. It may look a bit out of place if you have thin wrists so would advise trying before buying. It is ideal for myself as I work outdoors so require a tough waterproof and shock proof watch. It is easy to use and has large buttons which allows use by broad or gloved fingers. The digital readouts are clear and concise allowing easy viewing in all lighting conditions. The glass face is recessed approximately 5mm below the outer edge of the watch casing giving good protection against accidental damage to same. So far very pleased with this watch and would recommend it to others.
I love Casio G-Shock watches, they are strong reliable and look good, as well as being comfitable to wear. So as you can imagine I was at a loss when my old Casio finally started to give up its ghost. After visiting various shops in my home town area looking for a suitable replacement, it had to be a Casio, with radio control and solar power and finding nothing that appealed. I ended up searching the Internet and discovering Watch Shop. Well I was very impressed. A good selection of watches, particularly from Casio. To cut a long story short I selected a Casio watch, A Gw-7900-1ER, it has the features that I wanted such as radio control and solar power and at a price that I could well afford, if you ask me, It was a sweet deal. So my other half placed an order for the watch and it was delivered next day. The watch was packaged nicely, all I had to do was set the watch to my time zone and that was that no messing, no faffing about. If you are thinking about buying this watch, do it, dont you hesitate, this is a nice watch, its a very nice watch. Not only that, but I know that G-Shock watches are well made, durable and strong.

Perfect watch for exercise and sports.
I had been thinking about getting one of these watch for a while now. And as my last watch after 10yrs decided to give up, I indulged myself.
It is very well made, for me being an outdoors type the robustness is important.
Very easy to set up out the smart presentation box.
Mine is of the solar type which actually works very well. Also the radio time keeping is accurate and updates every time. The face is easy to read and the backlight is not over bright, just a conga table glow to aid reading in the dark.
The moon and tide functions are a very nice touch.
The strap I was a bit suspect about. It looked quite plastic. But no worries there its comfatabtle, and not to sweaty.
All in all it seems a great watch and Im enjoying it very much

Useless tide graph only accurate to +- an hour
Ive been an avid g_shock fan for years and treated myself to this cracker for my birthday, Ive been wearing it for a few days now and Im over the moon...and I can tell what phase its at by checking the dial....haha. Seriously this is a fully loaded bargain that will serve its purpose for years to come.
Solar powered timepiece It is good in that time regulation is managed by wireless but like all Casio timepieces setting it up can be a bit tricky. The tidal graph is not very accurate even when set for local tide times and one should be cautious about using this feature on a boat without checking actual tide tables for the area.. If you need alarms and a stop watch this gadget has them. display can be seen in relatively poor light so there is no need to burn the battery power for the light except when it is dark. In any case the light comes on at the push of the button and self extinguishes when the watch is rotated on the wrist.

Watchshop was great such quick ordering and dispatching to DHL. DHKL was great and have a great feature where you can see the parcel traveling. This was great as I am in Durban, South Africa. I received all the authentic packaging including the cool tin. I have had the watch for one day and I really like it, feels like really good quality, crystal clear screen, the strap is amazing comfortable, maybe the best plastic strap out there. The watch is made of a real y nice grade of mat resin/plastic - very nice quality feel. My watch arrived with the batter at the M level but a quick walk outside and it shot to H straight away. I think if you just wear this watch and get out and a about living your life there wont be any worries about the bater running out. The backlight is great, bright and even. The watch is actually black on the screen but at times there is a cool purple colour from the face because of the solar panel, I like it. The display is easy to read and the watch looks amazing, a good balance between rugged and classy. My favourite is the 4 screws on the bezel, these look great and take the look of the watch to another level. They are actually gunmetal rather than bright silver which is good.
One thing too not is that the tide feature shows the neap and spring tides too not like some other models, I really appreciated this extra feature.
I think this watch is an amazing balance of features, price andstyle that make it easily THE one too buy in the range. I surf, swim, walk, chase my kids and this watch will definitely stand up to the task.
Had a few Casio's now and this one looks like it should be as good as the others.More than enough features on this one and the radio time link is fantastic.

An excellent watch. I bought this as a gift for my husband, he will only wear G-Shock! He loves that they are completely effortless. They are totally reliable, comfortable, secure and look great. He wears it swimming and to work as a builder, and to the gym, it is a very durable watch. He is very hard on his watches but the G-Shock seems to be up to the challenge. His favourite things are he never has to wind it or change the time and it keeps perfect time.

This is my second of these Casio Shock series watches. This one of easy to wear, quite light and the wings on the strap help it stay in place. Its easy enough to work, better than the last one, and charges well.
Clear display, push button illumination, enough gizmos ie stop watch, alarm, timer but not too many. Great watch!

Nice sturdy watch for outdoor use, I work outside with dogs so plenty of wet mucky moments. Read the booklet first and the watch is easy to use. Battery stays charged with day to day use, only went to medium charge one night when i left auto light on. Ive since switched that off as it does drain the battery and distract you every time it flicks on. The moon phase feature is good which I use as I do a bit of shooting at night. Tide readings Im not sure on as Im land locked so not much use to me.Looks good on the wrist not too big even if youve got skinny arms like mine. Overall ticks all the boxes for a practical watch you need for outdoors.

After much deliberation and research decided to purchase the Casio G-Shock G-Rescue Alarm Chronograph Radio Controlled Watch GW-7900-1ER and definitely made the correct choice.
This is an excellent watch for sailing enthusiasts with tidal information, countdown timing, waterproof to 20 bar as well as the first class G-Shock robustness. I find a digital display more useful than analogue for sailing and this watch is one of the few fully featured G-Shock models today without analogue display.

When I first see the watch, I thought it was way to big for me, when I put it on I was very conscious of it for about 2 days,but then it is new, the watch looks fantastic on I dont take it of at all, I am a triathlete And I use this watch to its full potential, very easy to use & lightweight, I love the combat type feel to this watch , and it catches a lot of peoples attention with its stunning looks , it makes me feel good to where this watch, The strap is very comfortable as well no pinching anywhere at all, and sits very nice on top of the wrist.

This was an impulse buy as I was needing to replace the battery in one of my watches and getting mightily fed up with daily recharging my other one. Solar powered struck me as the way to go and the radio-controlled time keeping came as a bonus.This watch is quite comfortable to wear and very accurate One thing I dont like is the fact that I need reading glasses so reading the time/date without my glasses on is possible but not great in daylight but virtually impossible at night, so if you need glasses it may be better to get a watch with hands as they tend to be much easier to tell the time without your glasses on.

It is comfortable to wear and, thanks to the radio-controlled aspect, very accurate.The only thing I don't like is the fact that I need reading glasses so looking at the time or date without them on is not great. If you who need glasses one with hands might be better.
A great watch at a great price. Waterproof makes it safe for fishing and swimming. Radio time setting ensures correct time maintained and solar recharge means no more batteries to buy. Other useful functions like world time gives easy use when travelling abroad.

After careful research this model was chosen as the recipient was going travelling. A good choice. Well made, very good features exactly what was wanted. Black overall with a clear dial. Has so many features , ideal for travelling. It has different time zones, tide levels, moon phases, alarms etc etc. There is nothing disliked about it.

Bought this watch for my husband and he loves it.
Brilliant, does exactly what was claimed. Set the tide predictor to our precise location, and it is spot on, used to time sailing arrival and departure on several occasions already. Countdown timer function worked great too for race starts. Fits really well and comfortably, even on my relatively small wrists. Mineral glass and display is really clear, and I can read it ok even without my reading glasses on. I would recommend it to any one, particularly an active tidal water sport enthusiast.

This is a good quality watch. It is ideal as a work watch as it will handle everyday knocks and bumps. It is fairly chunky but is not heavy. Solar powered and automatic time keeping are very good features.

I bought this watch specifically for the tide graph plus it looked nice. Well the tide graph works well tells u wen the tides coming in and out and when its in fully. It doesnt give you exact times but gives you a rough idea down to the hour after you set it upi use mine in Donegal Ireland for sea kayaking.the luna cycle is a nice touch and is pretty accurate. The Watch is nice looking and comfortable and so im happy with it and plus battery power hasnt went below full charge even tho it is solar powered and so havent had to charge it by leaving it by a sunny window when the battery meter goes down like it says in the user manual.

Bought this watch to wear at work as I work in a very low temperature walk in freezer, it also gets knocked around a lot. Only had it a month or so but so far so good, seems very solid although it was a bit chunkier than I expected but theres no sign of a single mark or scratch on it. Yet another great G-Shock, batterys seem to last as its still on full after a week in the January darkness. Power save gave me a shock the first morning when the face was blank but one button press later and I was happy again.

Had several G Shocks in the past. This is by far the best one yet. Its more comfortable with extra inner flaps on the strap which adjusts to your wrist. Illuminator light works well. The moon and tide are nice extra gimmicks if you have use for them. Doesnt look to chinky on the wrist either.
Great watch. Searched for ages for a new hard-wearing watch for job (Royal Navy engineer). Decided on this one as the solar power and radio control time is ideal when on the move all the time. Only concern was size as I know that g-shocks are normally large but never had one myself before. I am however completely chuffed with it as its about as large in diameter and depth as I had expected.

I was looking for a watch that had a clear functional digital display and most importantly was rugged. I spend a lot of my spare time outdoors with my two little adventurer Sons . I am a watch fan, already owning a Breitling Titanium Avenger Chrono and a Bremont MBII, neither of which I really want to bash about and have unfortunately already damaged.
I spent a lot of time in watch shops looking at options and arrived at the decision that G-Shock was the way forward - BUT, then with so much choice - which one!
Most important - Toughness, this watch is not only tough, but looks like it could knock down walls.
Clarity - I wanted a watch that had a clear display but that can display a multitude of data all at once. There are a number of options with this watch for what data can be displayed at any one time and I am still playing around with this functionality. It also has an automatic backlight which adjusts to the surrounding light - just a glance at this watch is all thats needed to read it with ease in any lighting and in any conditions.
Durability - my watches so far are all automatic, which is traditional and I love that, but I wanted one that had very low maintenance. One I could take off, put away and when I came to use it next I wouldnt have to spend time resetting the time, date and data points. Equally, I didnt want a Quartz watch just something in my head about it, so this watch is the perfect compromise as not only is it Radio Controlled so updates the time itself, but is solar powered with fantastic battery life!
Another feature that make this watch stand out from other brands and indeed other G-Shocks are the two comfort flaps between the joins in the watch body itself and the straps which bridge or fill the gap usually left between watch and wrist with such a large faced and bodied watch. It is so comfortable to wear and so light.
I am an ex-military parachutist and would have loved this watch whilst I was a serving Soldier.
For the money this watch costs I can not recommend it enough. I already think it will become my daily wear over my other watches.
The choice between G-Shock models is really difficult and can only come down to personal preference and budget - that said, having pained over it for months, I am perfectly happy with this choice.
If you are pondering over a watch as a gift for someone, I would find it hard to believe they wouldnt be delighted with receiving this.
Tide function a bit pointless when you are a couple of hundred miles away from your 'home' City. Otherwise, great watch, which replaced a G-Shock I have been wearing since 2008. The watch is still fine, but the strap gave up the will to live.

If you like contemporary and practical, this is the watch for you. Firstly, the design is modern, stylish and remarkably understated. Construction is undeniably robust and well made. The display is easily read for the main functions of the watch but auxiliary readouts, like battery power level are harder. The additional technology on the watch like the solar powered battery and radio wave auto correction are extremely useful and dont deserve the term gadgetry. Overall an extremely good and worthwhile acquisition. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a practical, durable but stylish everyday watch for a busy active lifestyle.
I wanted something special for my husbands birthday and this fits the bill perfectly! The fact that its solar powered makes it different and means we dont have to worry about batteries... An outdoorsy type, gazer of both sea and stars, this watch gives enough information for anyone and is very easy to operate. Although quite a large watch, he has adapted easily and claims it doesnt feel overly large or heavy.I would definitely recommend for an affordable and special gift.

As usual super efficient service from watchshop. This is my 5th G shock, all still working and performing as new despite some being over 12 years old now. This watch does everything I want it to and I know will last for years. I do a lot of outdoor activities such as Hillwalking, climbing, camping, mountain biking, canoeing and white water rafting. The watch was a present for my sons 14th birthday. Originally i thought would be a bit big but my son love it. He loves that its radio controlled and that wouldnnot need to adjust it when traveling. Not as heavy qs it seems.

I did a lot of research before I bought this watch. I looked forward to receiving it in the post and my expectations were met one hundred per cent. The fit, colour, ease of use and weight were perfect. The item that really exceeded my expectations were the instruction manual. Easy to read and understand in clear, concise, plain English. Highly recommended.
Got this watch as I fancied splashing out a bit on a new one, and the G-Shock series caught my eye. I eventually decided on this one as it had previous good reviews, was better than my previous watch for features, but wasnt too overloaded with them.
I especially liked the sound of the tide times and moon phases for more of a gimmick than anything.
The display is very clear to see.
Buttons are nice and large so easy to press, unlike a lot of watches ive had where the buttons are just too small and fiddily to use easily.
The overall size is while large at first, soon becomes very natural and comfortable, and I dont feel I need to worry about the screen half as much as my last watch!
The light on it lights up the whole screen, but isnt too bright to be dazzling in the dark.
Moon phase seems accurate.
Tide times however are not. I set to the correct settings in the booklet and for the uk, but recently at the beach, the watch was saying high tide had just happened and was going out, when in fact it was low tide and it was coming in! As I was working at the time on the beach in a dangerous tides area, its a good job I noticed and used my common sense not to get caught out.
Not really used the other features yet except the world times to find out times in america.
Overall pretty decent, with just the tides feature being a let down so far.
Another excellent watch from Casio. I have a collection of Casios all are solar powered and wave cepters, all are working perfectly and keeping accurate time. Would well recommend. For the price you wont find any better
I bought this watch on the same day as Apple introduced their alternative offering, albeit somewhat cheaper - I think it pretty obvious what I wanted from my new Casio, notwithstanding I have been an Apple nerd for more than a quarter of a century. Actually this is my third G-Shock, testimony to product quality I would say. I have long favoured the rugged nature of the Casio, the water resistance, the solar power and the radio control. On this model I like the added wings that cause the watch to sit well on my wrist, and the moon phase information - I am not sure that I will get much use of tidal data, so I will consider that a free bonus!

Excellent watch, the tide feature works well, watch updates over night and remains charged even when often covered by my jacket cuff. Very comfortable to wear, extremely robust. Very pleased with this watch. I researched a number of different models before deciding. This one was definitely the right choice. Loads of features and easy to set up with very comprehensive instructions supplied. There is a really good quality feel to this watch and it has a really clear face that is easy to see. The Watch is for people who like them on the large size, its bigger than your average size watch. it does sometimes catch the cuff of the sleeve due to its size. I love the large screen, the numbers are easily read & the light works really well at night. Its light in weight surprisingly. The buttons can be operated with gloves on due to there size. Its great that its solar powered and the time is radio controlled, so you dont need to worry about them. plus most of all its a g-shock which is what i need at work.

It looks the part and certainly lives up to the hype. Its easy to set up although not much set up is needed and is ready to go straight from the box. The time is radio controlled so the watch updates daily with the exact correct time. Plus it doesnt need a battery! It charges through light and artificial light. It has moon-o-meter? to show when its a full moon, a tide-o-meter?, stop watch, alarm and everything else. You can even set the back light to illuminate by turning the watch face to your face when its on your wrist!

The watch itself was slightly bigger on the wrist than I expected, but once used to having it on the wrist it was fine. I especially like the fact that is is solar powered as I have 2 other branded watches with the same feature, but purchased this watch because they were being damaged at work, and not having to purchase batteries is a bonus. The other feature is radio controlled which means having accurate time all the while. There are other features which could be useful in the future. Overall an excellent purchase.
After trying a number of G-Shocks I firmly believe I have hit upon the one that most suits my needs and looks damn good as well. Initially, letting my heart rule my head, I went for the sexy looking black GW-7900B. Yes I read the reviews and looked at the pictures and decided that I would be able to read the display. What a mistake. Very, very few lighting conditions where I could read it without whirling my arm about dervish-like to try to see the figures. I was almost giving up when I found the excellent GW-7900. Again, read the reviews, looked at the photos and when it arrived, very quickly I would add, it almost jumped out of the box shouting Im the one!! Superb radio accuracy, it picked up the signal immediately and has continued to do so at 01.02 every morning since. Due to holidays Ive been from north-west England and down to the south-west and it has performed impeccably every time. The solar power means no case-opening and ruining the seals. Display was crisp and clear and, more importantly, readable under most conditions. At night a subtle blue colour illuminates the display at the press of a button. Strap is comfortable to wear and the not too big case sits comfortably on the wrist and is held in place by a couple of strap extensions on the back of the case. It has all the features you would usually need without going into the more specialized G-Shocks and the addition of Moon/Tide displays is yet another little feature that makes this one of the best watches Ive ever owned. Agreed you might never need to know where the water or moon are but isnt it great to be able to show your friends anyway. A great price from the Watch Shop too.
This is a great watch, it has a good snug fit to the wrist. The clock face is not too large and its great for seeing the time in the dark.
Brilliant product - this is the second one Ive been given. Dropped loads of hints and Santa brought me one! I particularly like the colour black, fact that its digital - and the figures are such a good size, I can even see them without my glasses on, trendy my young nephew of 14 thought my old one was cool and this one even better, reliable had the old one for about 4/5 years, great that it never runs out of batteries and automatically updates when the time changes - yeah!

I had a Gshock,watch for a number of years and it was just what I Wanted and had no,thoughts of getting a new one till it stopped doing anything due to an unfortunate incident. So when Insaw this new on on line it seemed to be just what I wanted and it has proved to be just that!
It is slightly bigger than my previous one, and has a great feel of strength and purpose. Big, black, bold and a winner and I am not talking about Usain Bolt, tho,he is too!. Ifyou want a good looking reliable sports and every day watch, this is the one!
One comment, not a criticism. I did not realise that the watch is solar powered, I assumed it would have a conventional battery like my previous one. It is still very new and. I am still trying to ascertain just how often I have to charge it. There is a loose page with the ownerss manual that says exposing the watch to about half a day of sunlight each month is recommended for stable performance. That does not seem like very much. But the first few pages of the manual stress that the watch should be exposed to direct light as much as possible virtually all the time, which could be a bit inconvenient. Could Casio clear up this ambiguity please? Just how much light does it need to keep working properly for say a week or so?

This is a christmas present, so ive not really had a look at what it looks like on, or played around with the functionality, however, it looks just as described on website, and im really pleased.
If youre reading this review, you already know the quality of the G-Shock Range.This watch as it all especially if you are Armed Forces or Emergency Services. It looks great, keeps perfect time Daily, Radio controlled time signal and you wont have to pay for expensive battery replacement & reseal either. Solar Powered.

Nice looking watch, usual G-Shock characteristics, it is a large watch but I am used to their size, screen is easy to read and the large buttons make it easy to operate even wearing gloves.
The wings between the rear of the watch and the strap are very useful as they help prevent it from sliding round the wrist which is a problem I have with all Watches. There are several time points each day when the watch is able to automatically update, however it will only actually up date once each 24hr period.
Despite the warnings in the instruction manual about the signal being blocked it reaches the watch through pretty much anything so you don,t have to take it off each night in order for it to be updated.
The stop watch starts running in minutes and seconds then adds hours if you are out that long so it is easy to read whilst on the move as the numerals remain large.
The manual is however about an inch thick as it incorporates every language under the sun and I found the instructions needed careful consideration before I tried to operate the systems fully. The strap is a slightly softer plastic/rubber than other G-Shocks and is more comfortable to wear as a result.
Overall yet another excellent watch from Casio, definitely recommended, if you are looking a couple of G-Shocks I would choose this just for the wing feature on the strap, it is a fantastic innovation and no batteries required.

Casio G shock GW-7900-1ER.
This is the second similar watch I have owned,and the only reason I replaced the original is I had broken the strap,and the face had become very scratched .My watches have a hard life, but I have no complaints about the durability and accuracy of timekeeping.The solar power supply ,has performed well ,however I do spend a lot of my time outside. Overall this is a very good watch for someone who leads an active outdoor life

Bought it as a present for my husband who has always wanted numbers on his watch. I think he likes it. It is lighter than I thought it would be. Overall a good buy, lots of features that he can read up on and fiddle with but the main one of date and time keeping is accurate because it is radio controlled.

Excellent looking watch. Several G Shocks in the household this was bought as a gift for my son with the stand out features being radio time keeping and solar powered so he should never have to worry about battery or timekeeping.
The wings on the inside of the strap are a nice feature too. I dont have these on my riseman but this model felt particularly comfortable when I tried it on.

The watch itself looks nice with its features, although somewhat cumbersome in appearance when you place it on your wrist.
It has many nice features like stopwatch, timer, world times etc, and has all the basics of a practical wrist watch that is tough and hardwearing.
But it is highly impractical as whenever it sits in the dark for more than 4 hours it resets itself completely, so you manually have to set the time in the time zone you are in basically every morning.
Its just as well i have the real time on my i phone from which to attempt to re set this watch every time i have looked at it
Working nights this watch is useless.
I am glad i havent worn it and will be sending it back for a refund.
i shall be buying a watch in its place that is over two thirds cheaper that looks just as nice and that wont let me down everytime there is a cloud in the sky, i dont mind replacing a lithium battery every 3 years for something that wont let me down.

Purchased this watch yesterday & arrived today Excellent service , this is the third Rescue series G I own but I went for this one based on being solar and atomic.
The rescue series are very comfortable on the wrist thanks to the two wings on the underside of the strap, these sit nicely around the wrist providing a nice snug fit for the head of the watch on your wrist.
The GW-7900 has all the usual features of a G, world time, stopwatch, timer, alarm & this model also has moon and tide graphs. Setting of the watch to automatically recieve the time each morning is very easy and with solar charging you dont really need to worry about it again. The colour of this multiband model is quite stealthy with no bright red buttons like the standard black GW-7900.
All in all a bullet proof daily wearer that will last the test of time.
I have an active job and busy family life. Having previously had a G shock watch I can honestly say that these watches do take some punishment. They are very durable and withstand some pretty harsh times. The new one I have purchased is a very reasonable price for a good quality watch. Theres nothing I dislike about it. The initial set up was a little tricky but follow the instructions and no problem.

My Rotary battery watch was its last legs and needed replacing my wife insisted I bought what she classed a nice watch so like many other I went on line and could not believe the amount of choice being offered. I then selected the watches that appealed to me with no preconceived idea of what I really wanted so I read all the reviews and decided on the Casio G Shock GW-7900-1ER. What appealed to me was the fact it is Solar powered no more batteries it is radio controlled no more fiddling
with resetting the time etc I am not a sporty person but do a lot of walking with our dog so the stop watch facility is ideal for when we power walk living on the coast I like the fact it is water proof especially when you are caught out with your wet gear I have yet to set up all its
functions what I have done have been easy to do the print in the user guide is small but thats a minor point. In some reviews comments were made about being chunky yes it is but once its on your wrist it is light and you soon become use to it. I am absolutely delighted with my purchase and more importantly my wife likes it to I would strongly recommend it to those who are not sure which watch to choose go for this one you will have no regrets.

I bought this watch as I was mostly, fed up of having batteries replaced at quite a bit of expense due to needing the watches to be correctly water sealed each time. Its the first digital watch that I have had since I left school 25 years ago!
So the main draws to me were firstly the solar powered feature and secondly I liked the design of the G-Shock range and the tough nature or the product. A great addition to these two features was the radio time update facillity and I was intrigued as to how this would work in reality.
The reviews on this site were also really helpful in reassuring me that this product may just tick ALL the boxes on my requirements.
Firstly, the delivery service was excellent, quick and delivered exactly when the courier said it would be.
The packaging is neat and well presented, and the watch sits with a real presence, reassuring to see that a bit of care and drama has been given to the presentation of the time piece.
The watch sits really nicely on the wrist, it may look large, but it is very light and not at all clumbersome, chunky but not intrusive, its very very comfortable thanks to the wings under the strap and face around the collar, theres no weight to pull the wrist round when the watch is being worn.
The display is very very easy to read, the buttons are positive and smooth to use.
Te instructions n how to set up the automatic time update are very clear if not slightly repetitive my watch did not come set for UK time zone and it took about an hour to go through the instruction book with the watch however this was great time spent as it really does explore the full funtionality of the time piece.
Everything has worked brilliantly over the first week of use, the radio time keeping works faultlessly at about 2am, the auto backlight feature is superb and can light for 1 or 3 seconds depending on the users preference. The watch battery charges very quickly to full capacity in direct sunlight but general daily indoor use seems to see the watch stay at the mid charge point most of the time, which is fine as his still retains all functionality of the various functions that the watch offers.
The moon functionality and the tide information is interesting but not a feature that I bought the product for, I find if anything, it does add to the visual style of the product and gives some moving interest in the watch face.
This is a beautifully made and designed product, hugely practical to use and a real time piece to be proud of. One of those rare products that you grow a real relationship with, the fact that rather than just sitting there, it is working at charging the battery or automatically updating its time accuracy, it feels like something more special than just a timepiece telling you how close that meeting is or how much longer your stuck before you can go home etc!
I highly recommend this to anyone thats looking for a great, tough looking watch, that should go on for many years being a companion on your wrist, working to ensure that it wont let you down, Wonderful Product!!!!!
Purchased this watch for my partner who is in the army and has wanted one for ages. Chose this one as it has a timer and lap settings so perfect when he is training. It looks smart and is packed with other functions. Was surprised to see there wa other colour options too. All in all, one very happy boyfriend with his new gadget!!

I bought this watch to replace my old Casio Sea-Pathfinder watch. Its a big improvement. Setting up couldnt be easier. Choose the city appropriate to your time zone London, press a button and it sets the time, date and moon phase. Enter the time of high tide at your favourite beach and the jobs complete. This watch has everything I was looking for. Its quite big but light and comfortable. Its fully waterproof and it should stay that way- no expensive battery changes to disturb the seals because its solar powered. The moon phase display shows sixteen images over the moons cycle, not the eight of my old watch, and the tide chart shows not just high and low water but also spring tides and neap tides. The watch tunes in to the UK time signal every day so timekeeping is absolutely spot on. The UK signal is transmitted from Anthorn in Cumberland and I live on the South Coast but the watch easily receives the signal first time every day, and would try again automatically up to six times if needed. There are some clever design details. For instance, the time it chooses to attempt to synchronise with the time signal varies according to where in the world you are and whether its summer or winter so that it automatically switches between summer time and winter time the minute the local clocks change. And if you travel a lot, it will switch to the appropriate time transmitter as soon as you update the city. Add in a good backlight and all the usual alarms and stopwatches, etc. and you have a great watch!
The watch is a good build, functional and intuative.
Looks good and robust. Been using it for a week or so and at the moment is doing great. I use it for timing my walks and runs.
I like the automatic illumination function but I only turn it on when I am in bed so that when I pick up my watch to look at it in the dark it lights up. I disable this function when I am wearing the watch to reduce Inadvertant illumination and reduction in battery usage.
So far ... Happy.
Great Watch, has everything that I need. Feels very light on your wrist. Size is around 1/2 way between a mini G-Shock watch kids and a full adult one. Especially good for a mid-age teen!

Watch is great, has all the usual features plus the moon/tide, world time features which was the reason I went for this model.
Its a fairly chunky model, not a problem just a little bigger than I was expecting.
I am really happy with this purchase. It looks as good as in the picture and fits well. It has a big dial but fits well on my slim hands. Liked the feature of setting the time automatically, though had to manually correct the daylight saving time. Not automatic in the true sense then.

Excellent product - Robust with decent waterproofing and a lot of practical, easy to use features. No batteries required and sets its own time. Very good for rough outdoor use or messing around in boats.
This must be my 4th or 5th Casio in a row. The last one lasted me 11 years and this looks like it will beat that. It looks very heavy duty and like it will stand up to a lot of adverse treatment like regular time in the water. The radio signal is handy for accuracy as is the tide indicator for taking the boat out or not. Looks nice and chunky and feels comfortable on the wrist.
Ive waited a bit before i give a reveiw so i could get used to the watch . Slighty bigger than i wanted , my old g shock was 47mm ideal for my wrist . This one comes in at 52mm but to be honest havent really noticed it as it sits comfortable n doesnt move around to much. What i wanted was solar powered and mineral glass watch, because after my last g shock died i bought a tough solar big mistake [glass not mineral scratched easily ] so deciced to invest in g shock again and im not disappointed dont neeed world time but tide n moon are very handy as is solar , so overall i hope it last 10 years again
When the watch arrived, one of the setting buttons was stuck `B` top-right which prevented me from setting up the watch properly initially. Managed to free it eventually and hasnt caused problems since. Not up to Casios usual build quality if feel.
As mentioned by others, the back-light is quite poor as is the volume of the alarm and hourly signal - I attribute this to an under-powered battery, maybe because solar charging isnt powerful enough to charge a larger battery?
Youll also need a magnifying glass to read the instructions - luckily Ive had a few G-Shock watches before and know how to set them up but if anyone else is having difficulty you can download QW3200 instructions from Casio in pdf format.
Now to the good points. The watch is good-looking with a clear non-cluttered display, the timers work well and its dead on balls accurate - Ive an obsession of checking my watches against the BBCs hourly time signal and this watch always coincides, a bit nerdy I know, but who cares... :o. Its comfortable to wear and not too chunky unlike my previous G-Shock which catches on my cuffs.

Already own a casio edifice so when I was looking for a casual sport watch for work the choice was simple. Casio again this time a g shock. So many to choose from must be one to suit everybody.. Has all of the features I wanted such as solar chargingno battery changes needed and wave ceptor signal to ensure it stays accurate. Fits well and is nice and light if you are wearing it during sport. You get so much more from casio for the money paid
The G Shock is an excellent product so far - Ive only had it 2 weeks. It does exactly what it says in the sales brochure. It is a large piece but sits wellon my large wrist. Easy to read,even with my old eyes, and easy to set up. Only down side - it only comes in black!

Very pleased with my new G-shock, first time Ive ever had one and it has not disappointed. Bought for use in the military and so far has not let me down, also very easy to use and the functions are straight forward with instructions that very understandable so you can figure out what to do.
Was worried about the size of the watch however it is not quite as bulky as I originally thought, although would not suggest if you like a flat watch.
Best thing is that the watch will automatically correct the time using radio signals and its solar powered so never let down!
The watch is bulky but this was expected, but it is remarkably light and comfortable to wear. The various features appear to work well but the Tide feature on the Tide / Moon Data always reverts to the Factory setting of 0600 instead of identifying the actual or adjusted tide time until the Adjust button is depressed when the last entry is displayed. This is confusing but as the graph seems to take up the adjustment I can live with it although being a mariner and needing to be very aware of the tidal situation I am slightly disappointed with its shortcomings in this respect.

This is my second G Shock and it is the perfect watch for the mixture of training and outdoor activities I do every day. I have changed to a solar powered version, which removes the need to change the battery. Functions like stopwatch, countdown timer and different time zones are used daily and so make it hard to beat when you look at the other watch options out there. I can only see this being replaced by another G Shock - but not yet!

This is my first G shock. Since putting it on it starts to grow on me right away. It is a big watch however it fitting comfortably around the wrist because of the light weight of the watch.
My left wrist is 6.3 inches quite small on size. personally i would not worry about wrists size, work out and build up forearms and it will suits you very well
This is the most useful watch I have ever bought as one of my pastimes is beach fishing the tide function is brillient the watch itself is well made to last a long time and comfortable to wear eventhough its on the large size but this is an advantage at night with the back light
A very chunky watch compared with what I usually wear. However, it sits nicely on wrist and stays nicely in place thanks to a pair of fins on the back of the watch.
I was worried about keeping the battery fully charged particularly as it wont get much direct sunlight as it is sitting on the window sill of a north facing window. But in practice the power saving features and keeping it expose to a bit of light seem enough and it is still saying it is fully charged. Reading the manual in details suggests I shouldnt have worried about the power and that it will last months before fully running out of power although some features gradually shut off

Great watch. Came next day - out of the box with correct time and really easy to use. Works along the same lines as my previous g shock so if you have had one in the past you dont need to look at the instructions bar to find out how to use the radio update for time setting dead easy - press and hold the bottom right button and wait till it beebs. Defo recomend to anyone wanting a digital watch.

I bought this watch as a day to day watch that could take some stick due to my line of work,I have other dress watches that I dont want to wear that often so the g-shock was the ideal choice.
I like its simplicity and its effortless features especially the radio control feature and the auto illumination and as for the value for money I dont think it can be bettered.

It was actually an impulse purchase as I own a very nice Rolex explorer
I was just interested in the solar charging and the atomic time keeping
And if Im totally honest I did not expect to wear the watch after the first day
Because for some reason I did not expect it to be comfortable, I was wrong it is amazingly comfortable and I have not take it off sinse it arrived I love the comfort
the accuracy and the general usability, the tide and moon functions are incredibly accurate I just love the watch so much Im thinking of getting another one in bright yellow, anyone reading this might think Im well off I can assure you Im not. Just slightly mad. The only thing I dont like is the fact that I need reading glasses so looking at the time or date without my specs on is not great , so for those of you who need reading glasses you may choose to get a g- shock with hands as its much easier to tell the time without specs on. That said I cannot blame the watch for my ageing eyes. But in general I love it and will definately buy another one
This watch is very comfortable to wear and the strap allows for my large wrist. The watch was set to German time but was very easy to set to local time. This is a good looking watch with easy to read date and time displays. Control buttons are easy to use with a good back light.I have owned several Casio watches and they have always been reliable providing many years of service.Finally looking forward to the radio controlled time setting ensuring that this watch is as accurate as possible.
What can I say about this watch? Well I dont need to describe it, theres loads of pictures here. The only thing Ill say is if you are a tough guy then youll NEED this watch!
Very pleased with this watch. Large and easy to read without being too bulky, sturdy construction but the buttons are easy to press, and the features encompass everything I was after in a watch I intend to take travelling across North America and South East Asia.
While I was dubious about the tough solar funtion, the watch reported having full charge on arrival despite presumable having spent some time in the box. The radio controlled time update has worked daily, despite not leaving the watch by a window as advised in the manual. How well this funciton will work in more remote areas of Asia is yet to be seen, but changing the time is easy regardless and the numer of built-in city time zones is quite comprehensive.
Cannot yet report on the accurary of tide and moon phase functions, but look forward to assessing these on the West Coast of America soon.
Display is easy to read and the back light function is bright, although it would perhaps be more helpful if it stayed on for longer once activated. The power-saving mode is a good touch, and the watch is easy to wake up with the press of any button.
I particularly like the ability to display a second time on the home screen - a feature I feel will be very useful when travelling and considering if it is a reasonable hour to contact friends and family back home.
A great watch overall that is surprisingly light considering all of the included features and has a comfortable and snug fit due to the addition of fins under the strap.
For those with small wrist or those who are opposed to watches that are too deep, I might recommend considering other models however, as this watch is almost 2cm thick and thus can get caught on clothing. Nonetheless, it does not appear as big as I thought it might and suits my wrist well despite them not being particularly thick.
I have no complaints about this product which is rare as I am usually quite fussy. Its reasonably easy to use and the instruction booklet is easy to follow. The watch looks fantastic, I was apprehensive as I have skinny wrists and I knew it was a chunky so thought it might look stupid but it looks really good and wasnt on the lowest rung of the strap. Its completely black and looks very professional even to a point looks quite military. I mainly use the stopwatch and the alarm which are easy, havent tried the wave receptor yet but again from the booklet seems easy enough. I owned a Gshock watch when I was younger and they are extremely well made and take all kinds of knocks. I choose this as it is solar powered and so I dont have to go through the hassle of changing the battery etc I also saw it as more of an investment for the price as I know personally how well these watches keep even more so if you look after it. If you tilt the watch towards you the back light automatically comes on which is pretty cool although you can turn this feature off. It is also 100% water resistant further than I will hopefully ever need. Again if your looking for a watch for outdoors/activity that isnt going to fail you, has everything you need, and dont ever need to replace the battery and want for life then you cant go wrong with this watch, resilient and well made it is true that you pay for quality. I hope my high opinion of the manufacturers and optimism of the product is rewarded by it lasting as long as I think it will. Didnt give an excellent rating just because as I said, Im fussy and it is still a reasonable amount of money to pay.

Ive had a few G Shocks over the years and this is another excellent watch. Really like the fact that the battery doesnt need replaced. Watch is nice on the wrist and isnt as chunky as it may look on the website. One dlight downside is the four large screws on the face but overall i am very pleased with the watch.
Upon ordering this watch, it arrived the very next day so first of all I must recognise Watch shops excellent service. The watch is robust and, for its price, is a must buy. It comes with a tough solar layer on the front and this beast also hosts radio control which means itll update itself so your time is always accurate. Stop watch, countdown timer, 4 alarms with snooze and a world clock...blown away. I feel like I could throw it off a mountain and itd still be at the bottom waiting to go diving. Because that is another feature. You can go down 200 meters in water. You may not survive but I assure you, the watch will. 174 meters is the depth of the English Channel. You know what that means.
Bought this watch last week, fast delivery and loved it until I went for a hike yesterday and fell. Now the watch doesnt function anymore and it is stuck on the timer. Will return it today if I still make it in time else i will send it back tomorrow. Will update how they handled it!

What can I say about this.
Well to start the look and feel is excellent the quality of the materials is great. The watch itself is big but not too big, I like my watches to be big and this is just right, its really comfy on my wrist as it has the two winged holders underneath. As for the functions, well I wanted a solar powered and radio controlled watch with the tide and moon functions, this has them all and work perfectly, its simply to use and well worth the price.
Its a good watch, chose this as I was after something rugged and tough for work. As I have a habit of breaking things. This certainly does the job nicely and it looks the part to. Its on the large side and the tough solar and radio set time work really well. All the basic functions work well, although the auto light function that turns the back light on when you turn your wrist is annoying and doesnt really work well as you have to turn your wrist farther than you normally would to see the time to activate it. So turned that off. And the tide function is a gimmick and useless unless you happen to live in one of the major port cities of the world. But those arent the reasons I chose this watch, so for me its ideal and does exactly what I wanted it to. So all in all I very pleased with it.

I have owned several G-Shocks throughout the years and this model by far fits my 6.75" boney wrist the best. The wings underneath the strap/case junction really fill the space most G's leave on small wrists. The highest also marks for display, ease of use, features. Well done Casio!!!

This is a big watch, but thanks to some clever design and the 'wings' on the back of the strap, it wears really well, even if you have a smaller wrist. If you're after something subtle and easy to fit under a shirt cuff, this isn't it. If, however, you want something chunky and a bit 'in your face' then this fits the bill nicely. I'm pretty sure that nothing I do to it is likely to break it, in fact it's probably a lot more durable and robust than I am!
This is an excellent example of what Casio does best with G-Shocks: a rough, tough, go anywhere watch that you can absolutely depend on.

Just a great gadget watch; lots of useful stuff to play with, looks massive but is really comfortable to wear. Wave Ceptor works brilliantly; even got a time update while still in the presentation tin!
