My first g shock and at a bargain price, it'll probably outlast me. My only slight complaint is for a big watch it doesn't have a hugely long strap. I do have 8" plus wrists but It's 2 holes from the end. It's a big watch and I'm sure bigger than me would buy it. The red hour hand is a little difficult to see sometimes but these are minor gripes and it's a great watch

Fantastic Watch with excellent features that I am still discovering.
I bought this watch for my husband who works outdoors. Its very practical and robust especially when using tools, machinery and when digging. He uses all features on the watch and likes the colour contrast which makes the face easy to read including when its dark. Overall a very good product and value for money.

I bought this watch as a Christmas present for my Fiance, who loves G-Shock watches. Im normally not a fan of them myself. However this one is nice, the black doesnt make it look big and bulky compared to other bright colours Ive found. The red adds a nice touch to the watch without being overpowering and in your face. The silver/metal really pops out making this look like quite a sporty watch, without it being too overpowering and still makes a great casual looking watch. Id recommend that this watch is good for those who want to remain casual/dressy but also like a bit of a sporty looking watch. Its definitely the type of watch to make others admire it.
Strap is comfortable and flexible. It is not a hard rubber that will rub you but gentle on the skin. Its not a watch that will irritate you. The strap is adjustable and fits my partners small wrists.
Package is as norm with G-Shock watches. It comes in a nice cardboard box which you can open up to find the watch safely secured in a metal G-Shock branded tin. Very nice for storing the watch especially something that teens/young adults will like. Could be used for other things if you didnt want to store the watch in it as it is a nice tin, ideal for popping in loose change or little bits and bobs to keep safe. My partner has a watch box now he will be keeping all his G-Shock watch collection in.
Definitely recommend this as a nice addition to your watch collection. Great price for what you receive.

Black with a bit of red looks really cool. More subtle than the all-red model and stands out more than the all-black one. Great.
You select a city using the digital display, then the analogue hands wind themselves to the correct time, and the date/leap year stuff works too.
One bad point is that the watches large size means you cant fit some long sleeve shirts over it, leaving it on show all of the time. Although some people like this, it might be considered bad taste by others, like youre pulling your sleeve up to show it on purpose.
I used to wear the classic Casio calculator watches and much say that this is a great evolution from them - top notch technology while still looking good.

Cool watch, rugged build and awesome design. The only gripe I have is with the tiny orange light Casio has chosen to put in the watch. It barely lets you see the watch let alone the time. Other than that, would definitely recommend this.

as others have mentioned, the hour hand in red is difficult to see in poor light conditions and pretty much invisible at night even with the aid of the illumination. Probably best if you decide to have this watch to go for the one with all white hands. Also, noticed it was twenty quid cheaper in Argos a few days after I received it.
Sturdy and robust looking watch which is great value for money. Setting the watch up upon first receipt is straight forward thanks to the instruction manual, though the small font size in this booklet may be challenging to some. It is packed full of functions, many of which I have yet had cause to use and maybe never will, but as I spend quite a bit of time in New Zealand the ability to swap the display of home time with that of your selected World Time City such as Wellington at the press of a couple of buttons is really great. As previous reviews have commented upon, the back light is rather weak and I cant understand why they chose to colour the hour hand red as this makes it even harder to see in low light conditions. That said, if you just want a watch that looks good, is comfortable to wear and that you know will cope with every day knocks and abuse then I dont think you will go far wrong with this.

Fantastic value great product.
I was looking for a rugged watch that would take everything I throw at it. The g-shock puts up with my everyday life, whether Im working out on site or just out hanging out with friends. The features work very well when I need them. The styling is great and I love it. It also tells the time very well which is one of the main reasons for getting a watch in the first place. This is my second g-shock and I cant recommend this range of watches enough for whatever the occasion/situation.

The watch has numerous gizmos on it one of which I like is the world time zones. I can simply select which city I am around the world an the watch sets itself to the second! It has the usual stop watch and timers with different alarm settings all very simple to use!
Really like this watch however if I had to pick a bad point about the watch. It would be the light! It doesnt light the whole of the face up as much as I would like, more around the edges an leaves the centre dull! However I am been picky and I am very happy with this purchase an was a bargain at £60

This is a fantastic watch. It is different in that it has forward and reverse around the bezel. It looks very manly and sporty and sexy. I prefer the black watch with the silver hands as I found the hands are obvious/clearer at a glance than the black hands.

Firstly, Ive been a fan of the GShock models for a long time but this model is outstanding value for money. Very rugged military spec with loads of features. I especially like the double clasp locking pins on the strap. Really nice display along with exceptional. Ease of use. In my humble opinion it is certainly one of the best value watches for the outdoor enthusiast on the market.

Its a great watch. Thing that was bad was that the watch wasnt delivered to me as promised next day delivery. in fact the following day i was led to believe that it was delivered Royal Mail Tracking System to at 6 am in the morning where everyone start work at 8.30. but somehow it was delivered to me around 3pm the following day. Disappointed not to even get an apology note from watch shop as Ive even made a complaint.

For the price £63, this is a great watch I wanted analogue time with the ability to time a single event digitally, does it and more! It is a rugged design which is very useful as I tend to break/damage watches. As other reviews state the hour hand in red can be a bit awkward to view in some positions or light.

The casio GA-100-1A4ER in black is a fantastic watch. I love everything about it. Its very easy to use because the manual is portable and contents thoroughly explained. I like the face of the watch that fit my wrist well. The strap is lovely. The alarms are loud enough and I have no problem viewing time /day/date in the dark. I have even recommend my colleagues at work to buy this brand.

I like the look and the robust feel to this watch. Also I feel that the combination of digital and traditional hour/minute time keeping suits my life style. The strap and watch unit are chunky and suggest reliability and long term strength. However, on the negative side i have found the watch is almost impossible to set the time/year e.t.c, going by the instructions. O have only managed to set date/

Great watch! I have always liked Casio for their ruggedness and functions and this one doesnt disappoint. It has that large aviator face that is so cool while having lots of little styling detail that make it took as good as it functions. I use it for rugged outdoor work - gardening, kayaking - and it still scrubs up well for a night out. Great one Casio!

The product is really good. I think the strap would be a lot easier if it didnt have two holes. My last one was a lot easier to get on and off. The colour of the light dosent light up the face very well. When I read the instructions they were very confusing. The watch is very comfortable to wear and its easy to read. The date on the watch should be laid out better but its very useful.
I bought this watch for my son and he loves it, he did find setting it up wasnt simple as there was no option for Gmt+1 option as UK time was an hour behind he had choose spain as a country to set the UKs summer time. Apart from that watch works perfectly he likes the design & colour.

My Son wanted this watch for his birthday it looked a bit complicated at first, the instruction where clear. It look great if you like a more chunky watch that is. It has two time systems a digital and anologue. Was really impressed when I put in the city it automatically set the time. Its black with double pin strap fasteners and re bottoms. My son hasnt taken it off since getting it.
Product looks great and feels great on wrist, however:
• hour hand can disappear when glancing at the watch for the time as its red colour is not bright or luminous enough
• the light, I think, doesnt work as its a single spot so does not light up the hands and/or digital numbers and data in the back ground - if anything it hinders the visibility of the watch
• world time is not easy to use as you can only move east I.e if I wanted to see time in a city in USA I have to go all the way round the world to find it.
So unfortunately not happy with the product

The watch is light and very attractive. The functions are very complicated for new users. However it is simply very fantastic to have a G shock watch well admired for its quality . I really admire it because it has alarm, world time, combination of analog and electronic functions. The only set back is that the short hand is not quite visible as it is red. The back up light should be more brighter.
Above all, it is a good time piece.

Its called the indestructible amazing defensive watch as my son calls it. It sure looks it with its protective scratch resistant lens ! Very user friendly and has many favourable uses for a teenager of 15. It was a show off birthday gift and made a ideal birthday gift.
Its a looks big and bulky however it looks grand on my son and he loves it. The bit of red/orange on the sides of the watch gives a unique style and the 25mm bracelet buckle looks very hardy compared to the other cloth straps featured. its more funkier as well.

I bought two of this item, it was delivered on time and looks real cool. Until I realised I have to do all the set up for the watch and I just find it too complicated. I wanted to return it but I need a present for my two boys graduation so I just send it to them and hope they can sort the set up. Watch would be nice and useful if it had the right time on it. This one doesnt and you have to do it yourself. With all those four buttons.

My wife bought me a G-SHOCK GA-100 for Valentines Day, iv been after a G-SHOCK for ages but theres too many to chose from p.s Im very picky. The watch is just what I needed, it lives up to its name... I have trouble with wrist straps on a lot of watches, so tend to go for the bracelet instead of straps.. A. Usually dont last me long, they snap or pins break. B. My wrists are quite big, so the strap length I struggle with, but with this watch there is still plenty of room. The auto light feature is very good, but I dont have it on all the time as I dont want to waste the battery. .... Overall the watch lives upto its name and I will be buying more.. I can guarantee that.... Whens Fathers Day hahaha

Good quality build. Fits and looks superb on the wrist. Has a chronogragh, start/stop, date and light function. The color scheme is brilliant. Absolutely in live with it.
Watch is good looking and robust. On first view it appears quite complex but read the manual and its easy enough. Lots of views on the quality of the led light... In my opinion as a watch collector with over 40 watches it isnt the worst, in fact if you simply angle your wrist you can read it perfectly in all conditions.

This is a great looking watch and feels good to wear. Sadly I sent it back as at night the light and dial combination is unreadable. Also the digital display is often obscured from vision by the hands and renders it useless.
this was a disappointing buy the hour hand is rubbish it does not contrast enough with the face of the watch.

Very happy with my new G shock. I normally dont go for the bigger models as i thought they looked a bit to big on, but I decided to give one try and am really glad I did. Looks fantastic and feels fantastic on. The features are all the sane as my previous one really except the back light option where you can set it to come on automatically when you turn your wrist. This is a great added function for me as I often work nights and used to find myself constantly pressing the back light button, now I dont have to.

Great looking watch. Great performance - rugged underground caving and superb water resistance. Looks good day to day with multi dials and regular clock-face, better than digital style. Hands show time in other time zones instantly, quick and smooth action. The only thing that could be better is the backlight, which could be stronger. It isnt enough in complete darkness. Just as well this watch is used when caving when a head lamps being used!

This watch is typical Casio good quality. It has the following functions:
Timekeeping mode
Stopwatch
Countdown
World time
Alarm.
The manual is in very small type and initially confusing, but basically to set up timekeeping mode the time isnt set when it arrives:
Hold down button A for 3 seconds until CITY flashes. Choose your city do this before setting anything else using buttons B and D. Then use button C to move through the other option daylight saving, 12/24 hour format, hour, minutes etc then press A to finish.
The stop watch features appear comprehensive, with elapsed time, split time, lap, speed plus countdown.
One issue with this watch is that the various modes Digital time display,stopwatch, alarm etc. can be partially obscured by the fairly chunky minute hand.

Bought this watcn for my boyfriend. Was extremely well recieved. The bold contrast between tne red and the black gives it a masculine edge, but does not make the wqtch look tacky. It has a smooth feel to the strap and seems strong and sturdy. Well worth the price, and definit3ly looks expensive but modest at the same time. Great as an everyday watch.
I absolutely love this watch. Its bold, its solid, easy to read, has plenty features and looks great. I wear it with both casual and smart clothes and I think it looks the part. Also with these g-shocks they are very robust, but do not compromise on comfort or weight. At this price, I dont think Ill ever be straying from these, but I doubt I will ever have to replace this one.

I Really love G-shock watches and this is another great one. Its big and bulky, has plenty of protection and is a great looking watch. Im not too keen in the light, which i think seems a little cheap, I much prefer the back lit type but this is only a little niggle. I would also like to be able to have the digital time and the date on the watch rather than one or the other. Overall very pleased,
Good watch could have been a great watch but let down by hands
I already own a Casio 4778 which is easy to tell the time with clear luminous hands but dark displays with white figures are hard to see.
The new 5081 has white displays with dark figures which are a lot easier the read
Unfortunately the hour hand is red and the minute hand white, neither is luminous. At night even using the light it is almost impossible to see the hour hand a blob of luminous paint on the tip of the hand would make all the difference

The watch looks as I expected it to look, reasonably chunky, would have preferred for the hour hand to white or brighter than the red, I travel through time zones and changing the time is so so simple with this, got a few citizen atomic watches and changing them over requires a bit of thought, going to get another one in a different colour.... youll like this a lot

This was my second G Shock watch, a replacement for an old one that I had had for over 10 years and I dont even think I replaced the battery once during this time.
The fit and shape of this new watch is perfect for my arm which isnt the biggest and although the face is notable bigger than what it replaced its very suitable and stylish.
Black and red colouring. The main colour is black but the red is used to accent the hour hand, and 4 points in the rubber face and finally on the four buttons making them easy to locate and use coupled with their textured finish.
2 areas which maybe arent as I would like include the light which is orange and looks slick but its position doesnt make reading the face all that easy. And finally the strap holes and positioned very laterally and i worry they may break at some point.
The features of this watch exceeded what any normal human could ever want in a watch. The stopwatch is fantastic giving both a lap and split option. Up to 3 alarms with the ability to add snooze mode. It is easy to flick between date and time on the digital mode. Reading the date and time on the digital face takes a little getting used to as they are both very similar and you could potentially misread them as one or the other.
All in all a very good watch for the day to day use and I also ride horses and carry out farm work, hence my demands on a watch are more extreme than most this is why I chose this G-Shock.
My friend has a similar one which has been ran over by a tractor and touched with a belt sander and although I dont recommend this and the watch doesnt claim to withstand these demands it just shows how strong these watches are.
The Casio watch that I ordered and promptly recieced has been a sheer delight to own. A very stylish and robust watch that truly delivers all it says it will. Excellent time keeping and excellent innovative features truly bring this watch up to date. Really dont regret buying.
good quality and easy to use with lots of great function for overseas travel .Tough and rugged a watch for those who spend lots of time out doors
Attractive action man watch, has easy setup. Well worth the money has a real negative, as the hour hand is red the hour hand is impossible to read in the dark even with the led light on. Could be the fact I am 70yrs old but even using my glasses impossible. But looks good during the day, while I am jogging with the dog.
Great watch for everyday use, it looks good and its a good size. Just one negative, I wish the hour hand was also silver and not red as its very hard to read at night especially when you use the light button, I think the orange light conflicts with the red hand, otherwise really pleased.
A fantastic level of service. Ordering over the phone was extremely straightforward and the salesperson was very helpful. Was looking for a large g-shock to fit wrist,,, found it here. All info is present and correct. Pictures were spot on as was description. All in all excellent.
